At  noontime in June-time
I'm writing this rhyme,
This carol of Christmas
And holiday time.
Of gift day and mirth day
And Peace-upon-Earth day
When life's overflowing with cheer;
For one can remember
That day in December
At any old time of the year!

At noontime in June-time
Or what time you will,
The spirit of Christmas
Has power to thrill
With zest and elation;
In anticipation
The charm of it holds us in thrall.
And that is the reason
A carol's in season
At any old season at all!

At noontime in June-time
Why shouldn't we sing
Of Christmas-tide glamour
When jingle-bells ring,
When glad hearts commingle
And life is a tingle
With happiness, laughter and cheer?
And whether the actual Yuletide is here
Or noontime in June-time,
Our voices ring clear
From poles to the Isthmus
To celebrate Christmas
Whose spirit lasts all through the year!
